Riley Discusses Effects of Government Shutdown on Tax Issues

Partner Richard Riley was quoted in a Bloomberg Tax article, “,” about furloughed IRS employees not being able to attend the ABA tax section’s midyear meeting in New Orleans.
Riley said it was regrettable but not surprising that the government shutdown would keep IRS officials from attending the meeting, leaving practitioners with a lot of open questions about how to handle audits and IRS information requests. “There are no clear answers,” he said.
