Gregory Husisian Shares Insight on US Trade Court Tariff Ruling
Â鶹´«Ă˝ partner Gregory Husisian was quoted in Logistics Management’s article, “,” exploring the recent U.S. Court of International Trade decision striking down the administration’s tariffs imposed under Section 122.
“This ruling is not surprising — Section 122 is clearly aimed at balance-of-payments situations and is not intended to be a general tariff authority to support worldwide special tariffs,” Husisian explained. “This ruling has a high chance of being upheld on appeal. The real question is with regard to the scope of relief, which only gives relief to certain plaintiffs.”
A “rush to the courthouse” is expected, as importers seek refunds in a move that mirrors prior legal challenges to the IEEPA tariffs, Husisian concludes.
